Big Queer Mission

Big Queer seeks to increase the visibility of queer issues and encourage intelligent dialogue representative of the range and diversity of ideas and opinions by, for, and about the gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender community.

Big Queer focuses on news, commentary, and opinion from around the world through pieces on politics, arts, entertainment, sex, and other issues of interest to queers. We aim to cover a full spectrum of topics for a diverse audience who are proud to be called thinking queers.

First envisioned as an online queer community in 1999 by Sascha who later launched it as an LGBT community message board, Big Queer evolved into its current form as a group queer blog in 2003. Big Queer is run by Sascha and a group of dedicated individuals including writers, artists, and activists.
