Things to be disturbed about: 1) that Ford would have a secret agreement with any group, especially with a hate group (don't say interest group, AFA is a hate group; they want to preserve the American family the way the KKK wants to preserve racial purity), 2) that Ford doesn't see this for the terrorist tactic that it is (do you think they'll stop with the boycott threat now that they know it works?), and 3) that Ford for all their talk of it just being business has not confirmed that they're going to continue to give to queer causes.
For someone whose slogan is "Built Ford Tough", Ford Motor Company is hiding like a yellow-bellied, lily-livered coward.
Several queer groups have already responded (thank god!) with
a fairly strong joint statement. I found a copy of it on the
Human Rights Campaign's website, but it is jointly signed by a lot of organizations including
PFLAG,
GLAAD, and
GLSEN.
I guess we'll see what's to come.
