Shame with Hello Kitty

Bad cops in Thailand are forced to wear Hello Kitty pink armbands to shame them, as the officials believe that Hello Kitty is an cute icon for young girls. It will therefore punish the macho bad cops by shaming their masculinity.

This sounds extremely stupid. If everyone knows the true nature of these armbands, then what's the point? They are obviously not "sissy" but "bad cops." Do people actually think that they are shamed by that? They are just hip! Why don't they just make them wear headbands simply saying "I am a bad cop," or just cut off their balls?

I grew up loving Hello Kitty and I was proud of it, (actually I loved My Melody even more) but what an insult to the mouthless kitty!

cutting bad cops' balls off for corruption charges... now that's something I'd sign a petition for!

Whose to say there aren't cops out there like you (and me)? Perhaps this punishment will actually encourage some people to be corrupt. I know that I would conduct some dirty dealings if I knew I was getting a free Hello Kitty armband out of the deal
