In a month that has seen enormous setbacks to gay civil and human rights in the USA in both political and emotional terms after the recent election, at least some queers will be dancing this month thanks to Yoko Ono, the widow of murdered Bettle John Lennon.
As reported by numerous sources including
BBC News "Every Man Has A Man Who Loves Him" is Ono's new version of her classic Every Man Has a Woman Who Loves Him. The new song peaked at number 1 and is still in the top 10 on
Billboard's Dance Chart. According to the BBC Ono said, "This is a victory not just for me but for all Americans who are against the administration's decision to ban gay marriage."
Meanwhile the UK moved a step closer to equal treatment of queer relationships when the House of Commons passed a civil unions (
more from gay365.com) bill that would grant same-sex couples many of the same rights afforded to opposite-sex couples who are allowed to marry.
