Wow! I'm at a loss. Can y'all help me write something on this one? Here are some of the excerpts.

Well, except that I suspect even the 19th century Quakers would find Miss Phelps to be insane.

Certainly the modern Friends couldn't be more removed from that extreme fundamentalism.

Perhaps we owe a collective thanks to the Phelps gang. They have achieved what no other group, cause, or individual has. They've given us a common goal. Left and right, red and blue, liberal and conservative are all patiently waiting to see the Phelps patrol reap just some of the pain they've caused others. I for one will smile just a bit when it happens (if only to myself).
